From the first phone call to our office to the completion of the job, we strive to make our process as stress-free and enjoyable as it can possibly be.
· During our initial phone call, we will gather basic customer and project information. We will set up an initial consultation to meet with the customer. We ask that the customer be prepared with magazine cut-outs, pictures off of the internet, photographs of similar projects, etc. to give us the best idea of what the customer is envisioning for their project. We also ask that the customer be prepared to share a budget range that they need to stay within so that we can best help guide the customer through the design and planning process, helping them realize their dream at a price they can afford.
· At the initial consultation, we will further introduce the customer to our company and will share handouts that indicate our process, including a sample of our job schedule and a sample of our payout schedule. We will interview the customer, asking them how they plan to live in their new space, what their design style is, etc. We will take copious notes, pictures and measurements of the space and along with copies of their pictures they have gathered, will take all of our information back to our office to work up their proposal.
· We will then work with our subcontractors, vendors and the customer as we gather pricing for their project, making sure to make the appropriate choices that will keep the customer in their budget range as best as we possibly can. During this time, we expect the customer to do their homework in checking our references and calling our insurance company for a copy of our insurance certificate along with reading up on us on our website if they haven’t already done so.
· Once the proposal is completed, we will make an appointment to present the proposal to the customer, making any further tweaks and changes that will, if all is acceptable, lead to the signing of the proposal and the start of the project. Our proposal is VERY comprehensive and there will not be any changes made to the job unless they are changes the customer requests during the project. We do not come in with one price and then use change orders to increase the price once the project begins.
· Before the project begins, we will conduct a pre-construction meeting between Randy, our lead carpenter and the customer to go over the project specifications to make sure everyone is on the same page before the project begins.
· As the project progresses, the customer will know who is going to be working in their home when via our production schedule, so there are no surprises to the customer. If as the project progresses, there are any delays (a rare occurrence), the schedule will be tweaked and kept up-to-date. Randy will meet frequently at the job as it progresses with our employees and sub-contractors and will be sure to connect at least once per week, in person, with the customer to go over any questions/concerns/changes the customer may have, in hopes of eliminating any punch list or problems at the end of the project.
· Upon completion of the project, a final walk-through will be conducted with the customer and any village inspections scheduled and completed. Once that is done, the final payment will be collected and the customer can get down to the business of enjoying their new space.
Below, you will find questionnaires for kitchen and bathroom remodeling (as these two rooms of any house have many choices and options to be considered) to print and fill out before the initial consultation that are very helpful in guiding the process. Please be sure to print out two copies of the questionnaire, one to keep for your files and the other to hand over to us for our information/file.
